Midwest Tape, located in Holland, Ohio, partnered with Global Architecture & Engineering firm, SSOE Group to transform a large, open area within its expansive warehouse into a welcoming and functional common space for employees to come together in a variety of spaces. The initial need for Haworth Pergolas sparked the conversation and expanded to ISCG sourcing strategic furniture solutions to create a variety of collaboration zones.
The goal was to support multiple types of interactions—from group meetings and casual collaboration to independent work—while offering varying levels of privacy within the tall, open warehouse environment. Each area also needed to feel connected through a cohesive material palette that complemented the surrounding architecture.

The architectural presence of Haworth Pergola helped break up the expansive warehouse environment into distinct, thoughtfully curated zones for meetings, collaboration, and focused work. Strategic power placement at each pergola allowed for electrical integration via TV monitors and overhead lighting.
For the central café and lunch area, a mix of booth seating, freestanding tables, and chairs creates a comfortable and flexible setting for employees to gather. Planters filled with colorful locally sourced faux greenery and flowers help define the space while adding warmth and visual interest to the industrial environment. A commissioned mural by artist Chris “Chilly” Rodriguez, created to honor public libraries, served as inspiration for the furniture finishes and color palette.
